As we approach International Women’s Day 2026, TEAMEnvironment KENYA, in partnership with the Lang’ata Women Maximum Security Prison, is proud to announce a powerful week-long commemoration under the theme: “Give to Gain.”
Starting Monday, March 2nd, through Sunday, March 8th, we are moving beyond just a celebration. We are dedicated to a week of service, restoration, and empowerment for the women within the facility and the community at large.
A Journey of Empowerment (March 2nd – 5th)
Each day of the week is dedicated to a specific pillar of growth and well-being:
- Day 1 | Monday 2nd: Environmental Day We kick off the week with a “Five (500) Fruit-Tree Planting Expedition,” focusing on food security and climate action. We are honored to welcome Mr. Geoffrey Mosiria (Chief Officer, Nairobi City County) as our Chief Guest to lead this green initiative.
- Day 2 | Tuesday 3rd: Sports and Wellness Day A day dedicated to physical health and the spirit of competition. Through sports, we promote teamwork, mental clarity, and the joy of movement.
- Day 3 | Wednesday 4th: Talent and Creative Expression Day From art and music to football and drumming, this day celebrates the unique gifts and creative voices of the women, proving that talent knows no boundaries.
- Day 4 | Thursday 5th: Health, Wellness and Reproductive Health Day A critical focus on the holistic health of women, ensuring access to information and care that supports their long-term well-being.
More Than Just Events
Throughout the entire week, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm daily, attendees and participants will have access to essential support services, including:
- Free Medical Camps & Blood Donation Drives.
- Free Legal Aid.
- Professional Counseling Services.
Join the Movement
This initiative is made possible by a wide network of partners, including Nairobi City County, Equity Afya, The Karen Hospital, and many others who believe in the power of giving.
As the scripture on our hearts says: “Give, and it will be given to you; a good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over.” (Luke 6:38).
