SKEIYA Unveils James Situma as Brand Ambassador as NaiCup 2025 Kicks Off

SKEIYA announced its appointment of James Situma as Official Football Brand Ambassador on 7th March 2025 at Orchid Hotel, KRU Grounds. This partnership marks a significant step in SKEIYA’s mission to revolutionize football talent identification and development through AI-driven scouting analytics and elite mentorship.

“This partnership is a call to action for better systems and opportunities for young African players,” said SKEIYA founder Syombua A. Kibue.

About James Situma

James Situma is a household name in Kenyan football, with a decorated career spanning over two decades. He has played for top-tier clubs such as AFC Leopards, Sofapaka, and Tusker FC, and earned 39 caps for the Kenya national team. Beyond the pitch, Situma has been a champion for player welfare, serving as the President of the Kenya Footballers Welfare Association (KEFWA).

Now, as part of the SKEIYA family, Situma brings decades of experience and leadership to this role. His involvement is set to bridge grassroots talent and elite football ecosystems, creating mentorship pathways and supporting youth development through SKEIYA’s innovative programs.

“ I love this intivitative by SKEIYA and NaiCup, It’s a platform that gives former players the opportunity to mentor and nurture young players.” said James Situma SKEIYA football brand ambassador.

The launch event was graced by football legend Matthew Ottamax Owino (K1), who offered this powerful advice to aspiring players:

“Read your contract, and if you can’t, find a legal team.”

Next Stop: April’s SKEIYA Football Scouting Camp in Partnership with NaiCup 2025

The much-anticipated SKEIYA Residential Scouting Camp is scheduled for April 14–18 at Lenana School, Nairobi. This cutting-edge camp, in partnership with Next Level Global Recruiting Agency (NLGRA), will feature:

  • Jouko Gorissen – European Football Agent & CEO, NLGRA
  • Jason Calder-McLaren – UEFA B Coach, Founder of SportQube

The camp leverages AI Analytics and AI Live-Streaming technology, attracting over 120 clubs who will be watching in real time to scout East African talent. Players aged 17–23 can register at:

Legacy Tournament Kicks Off NaiCup 2025 Calendar

The NaiCup 2025 calendar kicked off in style with the Under-13 Boys Legacy Tournament, held on March 1st at Two Rivers Sports District. This vibrant youth competition showcased Kenya’s rising football stars. 16 teams took to the ground and four emerged winners.

The event was graced by the Kenya Football Fans Federation (KEFOFA) President, Shem Okottah, accompanied by CEO Francis Omukuba. Shem Okottah emphasized the need to go back to grassroots to nurture football.
