The more confident you are about yourself, the less you need other people’s approval

Self-confidence plays a crucial role in our overall well-being and self-image. When we have a strong sense of self-confidence, we don’t rely on others to validate our worth or beauty. This is particularly evident in our relationship with our natural hair.

When I wear my natural hair how I want, I feel very comfortable in my own skin. My natural hair brings out my inner beauty and my personality, telling a million and one stories just by looking at it. Unfortunately, society often perpetuates narrow definitions of beauty and pressures individuals to conform to certain standards.

However, when I started embarking on my natural hair journey, I realized that the opinions and judgments of others should not dictate how I feel about myself. Throughout my natural hair journey, I have encountered backlash, stares, and comments from individuals who hold deeply ingrained insecurities about what beauty should be.

However, over the years the natural hair movement has become a trend. Being able to care for and embrace my natural hair on my own terms has been empowering. Not only does it allow me to express my individuality and authenticity, but it also serves as a reminder that beauty begins with me.
