Nairobi, Kenya – April 14–17 2025– The SKEIYA Football Residential Scouting Camp, part of the Nairobi International Cup (NaiCup) calendar events which culminates in the main tournament from August 12–16, 2025,officially launched this week, marking a bold step toward elevating Africa’s football talent. Combining elite training, cutting-edge technology, and holistic development, the camp brings together 34 promising athletes (U16–U23) with top coaches and global scouts, creating clear pathways from local pitches to international arenas.
Where Discipline Meets Ambition
The camp opened on Sunday with eager participants arriving between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM, receiving personalized badges, and settling into their accommodations. An evening orientation introduced them to SKEIYA’s ethos of discipline, excellence, and holistic growth. The energy peaked during a keynote speech by former Kenyan national team captain and SKEIYA Brand Ambassador, James Situma, who shared:

SKEIYA’s dual focus on technical mastery and character growth shines through its hybrid scouting model. On-site coaches and 50+ virtual scouts from Europe and Africa dissected every dribble, pass, and decision, aided by AI-powered cameras. Post-camp, players receive detailed reports highlighting strengths, growth areas, and scout insights a golden ticket for clubs seeking data-driven talent.

A virtual workshop with Berlin’s Sportsmate360 Academy on Tuesday unveiled European clubs’ expectations data analytics, mental grit, and media savvy. The session was followed by media training by Wairimu Nyathira (RI Sports) stressed storytelling: “Talent opens doors, but character gets you signed, narrative build legacies.”
Showcases and Success Stories
Day three saw showcase matches under scouts’ watchful eyes, followed by contract negotiation insights from SKEIYA CEO Syombua Kibue. The camp’s legacy is already tangible: 12 players in European academies, three Kenyan U20 national team call-ups, and 1 Bundesliga pro – Joseph Okumu (currently at KAA Gent)

As the camp closed with fiery showcase games and personalized development roadmaps, Lead Technical Director Mutugi reflected: “We’re teaching accountability, teamwork, and leadership—skills that outlast any trophy.”
