The legendary brutality of the EKO Acropolis Rally Greece returns this week (June 26-29), and Hankook Tire faces its toughest WRC challenge yet as the championship’s exclusive supplier.
Renowned as one of the season’s most punishing events, the Acropolis throws crews into the rugged mountains near Lamia. This year’s 17-stage, 345km route – the longest since 2021 – features sharp gravel, exposed rock beds, and temperatures expected to near a blistering 40°C. Combined with speeds hitting 200 km/h, tire durability and grip will be paramount.
Hankook is deploying its extreme all-terrain Dynapro R213, offered in hard and soft compounds. Designed for high wear resistance and superior grip on rough surfaces, the tire proved reliable through the demanding Portugal and Sardinia rounds earlier this season.
With Toyota’s Elfyn Evans and Sébastien Ogier leading the standings, pressure mounts on Hyundai and M-Sport Ford to close the gap. Hankook’s performance in these extreme conditions could be a key factor in the championship fight.
The Acropolis marks another crucial test in Hankook’s three-year WRC tire supply deal, supporting its global involvement in over 70 motorsport competitions.
