Kwame Rígíi is a gifted artist who uses the power of songs to create enchanting narratives. His creative artistry weaves together themes of love, spirituality, and tradition.

Through his music, Rígíi transports listeners to a world where he expresses emotions through melodic storytelling.

Kwame Rigii among many of his talents is a songwriter, poet, culture defender, father, and singer. His musical prowess, combined with a unique blend of contemporary and traditional elements, has given birth to Urban Folk.

Through his captivating lyrics, Kwame delves into the realms of love, spirituality, and tradition. This creates an immersive musical experience that resonates with listeners on a profound level.

Tũrĩ A Mũmbi Art Centre is located in Tigoni, Limuru Kenya. As you approach the entrance which is also Kwame’s home, the gate calms you down and is made of woven tree branches. Furthermore, the trees merge into one another, opening up a beautiful center of art and culture.

Gikuyu and Mumbi

As you explore the beautiful land filled with indigenous trees, herbs, flowers, and shrubs, which is also home to the Colobus monkey. The nature trail provides you with cool breezes and many pleasantries. My mood changed within five minutes. I was feeling relaxed in general I was feeling happier.

As I continued to explore the centre his son came to address him and called out ‘Awa’, the traditional Kikuyu salutation for father. A man who has found balance and richness in his everyday way of life.

Tũrĩ A Mũmbi’s Art Center is merged with contemporary and traditional influences, which highlights his unique musical style. A connection to both modern and age-old culture, preserving his authenticity as an artist.https://risports.media/turi-a-mumbi-a-gikuyu-cultural-centre-in-tigoni/

The depth within his lyrics, with each composition he tells elaborate stories that mesmerize and capture the minds of those listening. Kwame masterfully blends the themes of love, spirituality, and tradition, evoking powerful emotions from those who hear his words.

If you have listened to his songs like “Mwene Nyaga”  which has lyrics,” like Ngai Mwega we mûtangîri wa ita” where he praises God who is the creator of the world, Tûhoyaga wendani na gîtîo, invoking all of us to come together in unity and harmony. He also gives his listeners a sense of love and family when he sings Na thaa nyingî cia wendo wa rûûrîrî.

Gīkūyū language is revitalized by breathing life into the inherent beauty of his native tongue. He preserves the linguistic heritage and celebrates the bravery and ingenuity of the Gîkûyû people with words like Uiguano wa Gîkûyû na Mûmbi.

Kwame Rígíi emerges as a cultural ambassador, using his musical talent to bridge the gap between tradition and modernity. His ability to captivate audiences with his soulful voice and poetic lyrics.  A testament to his talent and passion for his craft.

Finally, Rígíi inspires a deep sense of cultural pride and identity. If you happen to be looking for a place to relax visit  Tũrĩ A Mũmbi Art Centre or check his handles for his next show.
